IFAT Munich is the world's leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management. This year, it hosts a dedicated Spotlight Area on Circular Textiles: a guided walk through eight process steles, each representing a step in the journey of a used garment– from collection through sorting, recycling, yarn production, fabric manufacturing, and back to design. Looper leads the Sorting stele: the critical step where collected textiles are graded, categorised and directed toward their highest-value next use.

Sorting is where the circular economy either works or doesn't. It determines whether a garment is reworn, repurposed, or recycled– and at what quality. Looper's stele made this process tangible for visitors: showing what sorting looks like at industrial scale, what decisions are made, and why getting it right is foundational to everything that follows in the textile cycle.

"IFAT is one of the most important platforms for the circular economy in Europe, and the Spotlight Area gives us a rare opportunity to present the full value chain in one place," said Marc Schubert, Deputy CEO of Looper Textile Co. "We're proud to represent the sorting step– it's the engine of the entire system, and we want people to leave with a real understanding of what it takes to enable circular textiles."

Looper Textile Co. is built to scale the collection and sorting of used textiles across Europe. With EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) frameworks coming into force across EU member states, the infrastructure Looper is building, and the expertise it represents is more relevant than ever.

Visitors to the Spotlight Area at IFAT Munich 2026 can find Looper at Hall A6, Stand 129.
